What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

We do not host blog comments on ProSmithCustoms.ca – No information is collected for the purpose of hosting comments.

Contact Forms

We submit your information via any of the contact forms on ProSmithCustoms.ca the information passes securely through the server that hosts the forms before arriving in a traditional email inbox managed by Prosmith Customs. The email inbox is a secure email inbox, hosted through a private server.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. Since we don’t host comments, the above will not necessarily apply to you.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Pages on ProSmithCustoms.ca may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. One good example are the YouTube videos embedded on ProSmithCustoms.ca.

Who We Share Your Data With

We do not share any of your information with third parties, beyond the standard automatic cookies and non-identifying information that the site itself uses. Any information you enter privately into our website is used solely by ProSmith Customs and its subsidiaries.

How Long We Retain Your Data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username without deleting the entire account.) Website administrators can also see and edit that information, but again, not the usernames. Website administrators are only specific ProSmith Customs staff and techs directly affiliated with ProSmith Customs and its subsidiaries.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You are also free to delete your account from our website at any time, which will effectively delete all the data about you held on this site’s servers.

How We Protect Your Data

ProSmith Customs runs on a private and dedicated secure server. We use the latest in SSL encryption technology to keep any data transfer safe. We use a legitimate security certificate and also make sure to keep strong passwords throughout the site for any site admins. In fact, we enforce the use fo strong passwords for all critical site users and roles.

About Language Translation Functionality

At ProSmith Customs, we use industry-standard WPML to serve our users versions of the site in any available languages. WPML uses cookies to identify the visitor’s current language, the last visited language and the language of users who have logged in.

While you use the site, WPML will share data regarding the site to the plugin developer. No data from the user itself will be shared. This means that only data directly related to translation usage is shared.

About The eCommerce Store

While you visit our site, specifically our shop section, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed.
  • Location, IP address, and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping.

  • We cannot see your credit card of payment information beyond the method of payment. Sensitive information is processed securely and automatically.
